Metropolitan Pictures was founded in Boston MA in 2004 by Scott Matalon and Warren Lynch to produce high-quality feature-length digital movies that are appealing to the mass-consumer market

Metropolitan’s goal is to create a successful indie movie studio outside the Hollywood system which utilizes all-digital technology and the largely-untapped northeast talent pool.  Metropolitan maintains a very high in-house expertise in digital media and PC-based production systems, and works directly with writers and directors on a project-by-project basis.

In addition to having established a production methodology specially suited to working in a small-set environment and the all-digital medium, Metropolitan owns its own video editing suite and digital audio recording studio, digital widescreen video cameras, cranes, steadycams, lighting and on-set monitoring and production equipment, freeing us from the time- and budget-constraints of rented equipment and studio spaces, and large production support staff and resources.

Metropolitan recently completed “Pony Trouble,” a 97-minute comedy/horror written & directed by Warren Lynch that is being released by distributor Brain Damage Films in March 2007 domestically and Internationally.

Metropolitan is currently in the development phase of “Snurg Hunter,” the follow-up movie by “Pony Trouble” director Warren Lynch, to be filmed Summer 2007. Currently holding auditions and securing final financing for filming in Summer 2007.

Metropolitan Pictures is co-producers of a full-length documentary about Doug Tunstall, aka “Tiny The Terrible,” a 4-foot-7-inch African American wrestler who recently ran for Mayor of Pawtucket, RI; Directed by Rod Webber, is scheduled for release early 2008.

Metropolitan Pictures is co-executive producers of a feature-length action/crime movie by writer/director J. B. Quelle titled “Allston MA,” currently in pre-production. Featuring landmark Allston locations and numerous local Boston-area rock stars including Dave Conley  (Tree, Superpower,) Robby Roadsteamer and Lauren LoWreck (Vagiant).

Metropolitan Pictures is always seeking talented writers, directors, DP’s, actors and investors for our upcoming projects.
